Traffic changes at Nudgee interchange

Construction activities at the southern end of the project have moved to the next stage following a change to the motorway lanes at Nudgee.

On Saturday 7 October, the project team realigned approximately 4kms of the Gateway’s northbound traffic lanes onto a new section motorway, including the on and off-ramps at Nudgee Road.

This ‘traffic switch’ allows work to continue on the $2.7 million heavy vehicle rest stop, opposite the existing Nudgee Service Centre. The rest stop will be the first State-owned facility of its kind in the Brisbane Metro area.

With vehicles now running on the new motorway lanes, deconstruction of the remaining ‘old’ Nudgee Road bridge will continue.
