New heavy vehicle rest stop at Nudgee

The State government has taken the initiative to build a new heavy vehicle rest stop at Nudgee, north Brisbane, in conjunction with the Gateway Upgrade North project.

Work commences this month to construct the new, $2.7 million rest stop alongside the Gateway Motorway near the existing Nudgee Service Centre, a frequented stopover spot.

The new heavy vehicle rest stop will provide a welcome area for trucks and large vehicles to pull over and take a break. It will include 25 parking bays suitable for a range of heavy vehicles including trucks, caravans and buses.

It will feature outdoor table and chair facilities and pedestrian walkways connecting it to the existing Nudgee Service Centre carpark.

Construction will begin in July 2017, with works expected to take approximately six to eight months to complete.
